What is Blocklisting and Why Would You Blocklist an Email Contact?
Blocklisting is the process of adding an email address to a list that prevents you from sending campaigns to that contact. You might need to blocklist a contact if:
- Spam Complaints – If a contact marks your emails as spam, it could harm your sender reputation. Blocklisting these contacts ensures they no longer receive your campaigns.
- Unsubscribed Contacts – If a contact has unsubscribed but is still receiving emails, you’ll want to blocklist them to respect their preferences and maintain compliance with email regulations.
- Invalid or Unwanted Contacts – Sometimes, you may need to blocklist contacts who are unresponsive, irrelevant to your campaigns, or causing deliverability issues.
- Protecting Your Deliverability – By removing problematic contacts from your email list, you help protect your overall email deliverability and ensure your campaigns are reaching the right audience.
