Importing your contacts into Snappy Kraken is quick and easy. Follow the steps below to prepare your contact file and upload it successfully.

Step 1: Download the Contact Upload Template

Download our Contact Upload Template before preparing your contact list.

Using the template ensures your contacts are formatted correctly and helps prevent upload errors.

Step 2: Populate the Contact Upload Template

Fill in the required information for each contact.

Required Fields: The following columns must be completed for every contact.

  • Column A – First Name
  • Column B – Last Name
  • Column C – Email Address

Important: The email address is used to identify each contact in Snappy Kraken. Contacts with missing or invalid email addresses cannot be uploaded.

Optional Fields: You can also include additional contact information if it's available.

  • Column D – Phone Number
  • Column E – Address
  • Column F – City
  • Column G – State
  • Column H – ZIP Code
  • Column I – Date of Birth

These fields are optional and can always be added later.

Using Birthday Automations

If you plan to send automated birthday messages, make sure to populate:

  • Column I – Date of Birth

If you aren't using birthday automations yet, you can leave this field blank.

Step 3: Upload Your Template into Snappy Kraken

Once your spreadsheet is complete, save your changes and upload the file into Snappy Kraken.

During the upload process:

  • Assign your contacts to one or more Groups.
  • Review the upload summary before completing the import.

Note: Groups are assigned during the upload process they are not added directly within the spreadsheet.

Helpful Tip: If you're planning to connect a CRM in the near future, don't worry about having every field completed today. Many advisors simply upload names and email addresses first, then sync additional contact information from their CRM later.
